
The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) recently inked an agreement with the Nagoya University to intensify cooperation in rice research and education.
Dr. Seiichi Matsuo, President of Nagoya University, and Dr. Matthew Morell, Director General of IRRI, signed aMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) which outlines the scientific and technical collaboration between the two organizations.
Through the partnership, IRRI and Nagoya University will exchange organization members and researchers, as well as academic materials, information, and publications.
Both institutes can also conduct joint research projects, organize symposiums, develop projects for fundraising, and supervise students’ research, dissertations, theses, and fieldwork.
The partnership between IRRI and Nagoya University began over 15 years ago through the exchange and joint supervision of PhD students through the IRRI-Japan collaborative project.
