Regenerative agriculture (RA) is an approach to food and farming systems that rejects any use of pesticides, artificial fertilizers, while aiming to regenerate topsoil, increase biodiversity, improve water cycles, and more. This concept is based on applied research that integrates organic farming to the plot.
David Bronner, the Cosmic Engagement Officer (CEO) of soap brand Dr. Bronner’s, discussed how using natural products is setting a standard for others at the First Annual San Diego Food Tank Summit.
According to Bronner, the company is an avenue for progressive change. Dr. Bronner is passionate not just with their place in the global market. The brand also promotes agriculture practices and uses their profits for missions and charities that they believe in.
Recently, Dr. Bronner’s recently donated over $8 million to advocacy clauses and over $1.4million for regenerative agriculture projects.
The company is also a founding partner in the Climate Collaborative, an organization that encourages actions to reverse climate change amongst companies involved in the natural products industry.
Dr. Bronner’s was founded in 1948 and has since partnered with certified Fair Trade projects to source major ingredients, such as oil, from around the world.
